I have a Ducato 14 2.8 tdi LWB year 2000.

It was broken into the other evening, the barrel where you put the key in has gone, but if you put a screw driver in you can turn over the engine. It will not start because the key has some kond of sensor in it.

Spoke to a Fiat dealer who want around £700 to do the lock set.

Help - the van is not worth that!

There must be a way of doing this cheaper.

By the way I have one black key (the red one was stolen when i was burgled a few years ago!)

Hi

Sorry if this does not work, but if it turns over on the screwdriver but will not start because the black key is not present to switch off the immobiliser my suggestion is this....

the black key links to an aerial in the steering column, if you tape the black key to the sterring column it should start, if this works you at least can then come up with some system that allows you to use it.

Regards
