Buzz,

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :) :) :) :) :) :)

A Holden Monaro probably

Not sure what prices are like at the mo but 14k would deffo get you a good model, possibly a VXR, but probably not one of the 500 models, mores the pity.

If not, id get the mother of all Evo 6's, love evo 6's!

Ian, was gonna ask you what you'd have, but looked up and saw you'd already posted! lol.

330D is good, you could get a bit newer but for the sake of 1 year, i'd rather have the bigger remapped 5 for the money :D

Oddly enough, the current 535D is the car i plan on replacing the passat with. Of course, i need to wait 11 months before i even get the passat... does anyone else have their next 2 cars planned this far in advance?

re

it does depend if its 10-14k fro a weekend toy or a daily driver really. . .

daily driver i agree prob somethign german and diesel with a remap

weekend or pleaseure car i really want a subaru legacy b4 rsk at the moment, you;d get one with loads of change for petrol money! lol

I'd buy my next door neighbours R32 Skyline GTS-T for 4k and then live off the remainder for 6 months ;)

Dan

@ Jayfish, Think you would be very hard pushed to get an R34 Skyline for that sort of money. They're more like 28 at a push.
But i will agree that if i could get any car it would be an R34 the daddy of all motors!!

i would get a skyline gtr34. next step from the evo's and scooby's.

life is to short to look back

if i was been honest i would probably spend the money on converting my bravo to 4wd and tune the **** out of it lol but i am pretty stupid like that. lol

Buzz;

We have a 530D (2004) BMW for sale at work at the moment, with the M sports pack and all the add-ons (MD's ex car) - I just can't justify the money on something like that though. We also have a 320D (2004 also) up for sale, but again, we're talking ~12k for it! It's just way out of my budget.

But like you said, the 535D is the one to go for, and I really do quite fancy one, or even the smaller 335D. I believe the new ones are pretty darn quick, with an achievable 30+MPG.

FYI I've been driving around in a 2006 Mercedes E280 (Turbodiesel) for the last week or so... It's the Saloon version with the 3-litre straight 6 automatic. To be honest; it's a lot quicker than I expected, and I'm pretty sure it'd wipe the floor with my Bora. I checked the MPG display, and it shown a lovely 33MPG average! Not bad I thought.

When you're cruising on the M'way, 2,000rpm comes in at about 80MPH and when you boot it, oh well! The gearchange is seamless.

I'd really love a go in a 335D/535D... mmm :)
