I have had easier women then my fiat 45, 1993..
And I'm sure their expenses have cost me less,
With better results..;)

I have spent the last 3 years in more positions, under, over, on top
of my fiat then any 'shag' I've ever known! The truth is, my back can't
take it anymore and neither can my pocket!

The electrical system has caused so many complications and damages, that I could of bought a new car by now!
I have taken the fuse box apart several times, after discovering, burnt signs inside it and on the outer wiring at the back of the box.
I have searched the country and I'm appealing to anyone who has a clue to what I've been through...bleeding knuckles... etc.
Please send any picture, photos, or schematics of the Uno's fuse box or any of its main electrical system and wiring (colors being important)
I drive around with bundles of wires hanging from under my steering
wheel, cause I'm constantly taking something else apart.
Last week I was entering an underground parking-lot when police stopped
me, thinking that with all the wires hanging from my dash board, I might
be driving a car-bomb! Well I've called my fiat many things, but this
is historical. hysterical too!
If someone out there has a min or two, an understanding heart and can help me, by sending anything scanned, so I can have just a little satisfaction that my head-lights won't turn off when I signal left or that my wipers won't turn on when I'm signaling right..[xx(]
Give an old-boy a little satisfaction and HELP!!!!!
I promise to talk nicely to my fiat and change her oil annually.
Thanks, Grateful for input,
Frustrated, Dave [V]

Hei.

I don't have wiring schemes, but I could take pictures of the wiring around the steering rack and around the fuse box, where I can get to. Does that help? My car is from 93, model 1.1i.e.S. I think that's the same as the old Uno 60. Do you have an e-mail adress?

Sorry to hear about your problems, but it was actually impossible to read the above without laughing a bit. Very well written indeed.

I had to do some welding in the fuse box on our Fiat Ritmo earlier, because it caught fire. Yes... It was some bad connection due to corrosion and cracks. The whole set of levers which start / stop wipers, lights, blinkers etc. had to be changed as well, because every time I was blinking left or right both the radio and the wipers went dead. Blah... Try changing this, if nothing else helps. Cheap to buy used of a smashed Uno.

Morten.

Cheers Morten!

Thanks for getting back so soon.
The description you gave, sounds almost identical to what I found inside my fuse box. Black burnt areas with damaged melted wiring. On the inside, the 'green electrical bored' was damaged, so I too did some soldering, and I was quite proud too! Only later that night driving home I smelt the solder melting, maybe from the heat of the surrounding fuses and mess... [What a relief, I thought my carburetor was chocked again] So I drove back slowly with only my parking lights working and of course, yes, and no wipers either! Luckily my copilot was able to hang tight out her side of the window while occasionally giving the window a wipe down!
If you are able to photo any of those areas you mentioned, I would be very grateful! In the mean time, I'll try and pick up a second-hand fuse box.
Thanks again for all :D

….Continuation of my Uno fuse box Saga…

I really believe that after (Moe, Larry, And Curley), namely the three clowns who were responsible at the time for installing the Alarm System, the Stereo System and the Cellular Speaker-Phone Unit, finished splicing, slicing and dicing the electrical cables of my innocent Uno into Sushi, she's never been the same. So, I see signs and evidence that as a result of these traumatic actions, wire colors at the back of the fuse box were muddled and 'extended', to say the least. It's not an easy job to release the fuse box from its place, but if someone might be in the neighborhood I would appreciate a photo-finish or two.

Signed,
Bleeding knuckles, Dave
