Did you get a new certificate?

Yes I did and thats why it came as a bit of a suprise

They issued you with a certificate  , so does that count as being insured or not? :chin: As far as you were concerned you were covered.

Well I thought I was, it really hit me cosidering ive collected my daughter and 3 grand children from ponty 2 or 3 times I couldnt live with the guilt if any thing had happend and aso the other funny part is the new quote is £89 cheaper, they must make it up as they go along (n)

If they've issued you a certificate, then you were insured, if it was their error you should complain in writing.

I asked how come I have been issued with a certificate and you some how didnt take the money Oh we are very sorry for the incovienience caused we cant apologise enough so back to the under writer the go and they say as it is our mistake we will reinstate your policy with no loss of no claim bonus etc WELL THANKS A BUNCH now named and shamed

ZURCH :tosser:

you should have pushed for a discount or partial refund for the time they claim you weren't insured.

You were insured because you had a certificate.

For cancellation to be effective they have to notify you in writing prior to the actual cancellation.

If this never happened dont worry about it. Even if for some reason the police stopped you and found you had no insurance it would have been a hassle but you probably would have gained some money out of it.
