Idling Popping Noise

Every Day Wen I Start My Car & Its Cold My Car Starts Fine & Revs Are About 1200rpm Rather Than The Usual 800 Its At This Point That If Left & No Throttle Applied The Car Judders & Starts To Make A Popping Noise Possibly From The Exhaust As I Aint Managed To Tie Where Its Cumming From Down Yet! Any Ideas Gents?

Yes, its normal.

When engines are cold they rev faster than when they are hot otherwise they stall.

Ever driven a car with a choke knob?

yes my car makes the 'popping' noise on start-up as well. jst figured it was nothing to worry about???!!!
