Technical Idle Out

My car isn't idling right. Sometimes it "pulses" and then sometimes it idles too high.

Why does this happen? And is it easy to fix?

Check all the vacuum hoses from the throttle body and intake manifold back to the MAP sensor and so on. Chances are, one will be leaking.

If not, replace the MAP sensor.

Thats great!!! The hose on top of the rocker cover was metled and didn't fit properly so I had to replace it. But I made my own!! It could be the small pipe coming from this breather pipe as it goes into the throttle body. I had to drill the new bit of pipe and bodge this pipe in. I will check this pipe to see if this is the problem.

But didpite this my mpg has gone up!!
