Hi Everyone,

I've got a 2011 Punto Evo GP 1.4 5 door - mine is full leather (front and back seats, steering wheel). Is this unusual? I can't seem to see any others like it.

Also, it seems quite sluggish - is this normal?

the 1.4 is NOT a ball of fire,
but worth checking the basics - to make sure you've not got a fault or 2,

trim - all down to who ordered the car new,
my TA , has quite a few NICE features, but missing split/fold , etc

Welcome to the forum by the way.

The 1.4 8v isn't a bad motor, but I do refer to my Punto as "The Elephant" in our house as it is not very quick off the line compared to my wife's 1.2 500!

So yeah, I would agree it doesn't feel all that great accelerating from a standing start. But I find it's pretty good in the mid-range from 30 to 70mph. Like the 1.2 8v, if you are prepared to give it some beans working your way through the gears, it is pretty good fun. Sounds like you are flying along when in fact you're doing about 45!

But that's not to say yours hasn't got a problem, it might well have. Has it been driven much recently before you got it? What sort of mileage has it done? Serviced recently too?

Hi thanks for the replies.

I've had it since January and had at the time done 10,500 miles. It's now done 12,600 (massive user not!)

It's due it's MOT in Jan - will have service done then.

you've GOT,
leather seats , leather wheel, sill covers , dash cubby

no Climate though .. or cruise probably..??

TA - was a dedicated trim level in 2012 - different wheel and gearknob to yours,

the RED stitching - does it feature elsewhere in the car..??

I guess the low mileage could well have an effect on it feeling "sluggish", with the mileage it has done so far the engine actually might still have a bit of loosening up to go.

Is it still on its original battery? If so it might also be a possible cause of sluggishness.

I expect a service will liven it up a bit. Not sure if it's already had the timing belt and water pump replaced yet, if not that will need doing this time as they need doing every 5 years.

Once it's serviced you might want to consider an "Italian tune up"...always nice to clear the cobwebs!
