Okay, basically.. after this mot ive just done i was going to sell this car.. but :p its grown on me... and i like its cuteness and how its different.

I want to start slowly doing some mods... first of all presentation then mechanical mods.

Its 899cc 1995 Metallic Blue cinq sx.


Ideas please?

First, check your insurance.

A modified 899 is probably going to cost more to insure than a standard Sporting.

Make sure the standard engine is working properly. Give it a full service including fuel filter and use a good quality oil.

I would then leave the engine well alone, there are no easy off the shelf mods available.

Sort out the suspension, tyres and brakes. Being able to use the power you have effectively is better than having more power and not be able to use it.

on the presentation side of things, the usual options would be to colour code the bumpers (potentially a new kit), alloys, lowered, maybe a slight tint on the rear windows,debadge. really depends what your tastes are and budget is?. :)

Thanks.. Yer.. i should be getting a new job on thurs (interview) so if i get it, going to pay mechanic to clean out under bonnet and if anything needs fixing to fix it..

Know what you mean about leaving engine alone...jus had a standard back box fitted for mot and it sounds nicer already, so maybe jus replace knackered parts.... :)

Yer, im thinking a darker blue tho.. how does that sound? or same colour?..hmm

I like the abarath kit. its nice :)

Alloys yer... im pretty happy with getting cinq sporting ones.. bit of paint and laquer on them would be good :)

lowered i was thinking maybe 20mm just to give abit of handling and not making it look so high up :p

going to get back windows tinted dark smoke I think... would love a blue tint, would top it off.. but dont know much bout coloured tints.....

Its debadged at back...will involve quite abit of work with front badge as i have no experience in filling the hole and smoothing bonnet afterwards... hmmmm would look nice debadged at front or maybe new fiat badge - the one with a weath or something like that.

Yer..youve high lighted some points im liking.. and definately do the interior as mentioned in a pm at some point :) :p


I thinks im going to have a long list... haha..

thankyou. :D its for a full time lifeguard. want to work in sports and leisure industry-always have done and nows my chance. free gym membership and swimming ill be well away :p Its good money too :p

and alloys will be thought of after a few pay slips i think. take a nice trip to the breakers, get em cheap and paint away :p not sure which colours yet tho summink to think about..... I would like a sporting tho. Maybe i should get a sporting 1.1 and sell the 899... to celebrate getting the job prehaps :p hehe. .any excuse to spend. then they would be more options yes?

yer know what you mean. maybe after a few pay slips ill look into it. :p Theres a few grannies driving around in cinq sporting =/ bit of a waste. but id love one of those..because you know it hasnt gone above like 40mph and has been driven soo very carefully and will have milage to tesco and back haha.

tbh, i dont know where to look.. could i just appear at the scrap yard and just say im gna take a few things out these cinqs lol.. dont want them to rip me off either...heh.

Do you live nr kelvedon then? coz i dont know any FF members near me-even lookin on map thingy on ere...

that scrappy dont rip no one off, and if you say you are from fiat forum they will be special nice :)have you not seen my car driving about?

lol..yer true. Im not far away either.. ohh a FF member near me :p and thats gd to know :)

its one heck of a nice looking car.. and i LOVE the alloys.. :D i might have seen it about..If i was to say stanway/tollgate.. would you say u were close to there? if you know where it is :p

coz id like to meet other members ya know. :)

ohh koowel. i will look out for you. :) if a blue cinq flashes lights at you.. its me :p haha or if you see mee.... and yer would be cool to tag along to a meet :p looking in events I might be able to make RR day in north london in april. is there no essex meets? :p heh the others atm i abit to far for me.

nar we tried an Essex meet at cricketers Fordham heath, but every one lost interest so it didn't happen.
Beau and some of the punto lot go to southend some times though.

i wont be at next rolling road day as i will be at donny show, but will be at the one after if it don't clash with any big shows.

and there is ace cafe every month, thats easy to get to if you go braintree way then past stansted to the m11, then m25 then a1, takes about 1 and half to 2 hours

ohh i know where that is fordham heath aint far away bout 10mins. hmm southend... quite full of renault 5's and nova's haha....hmmm maybe when ive got money issues sorted and can afford lots of petrol i will go to ace cafe. and will have to see if you are going too.. as you seem like u know the way :p

and if u know braintree youll know the new pool in freeport? thats where im hopefully gna b lifeguarding :)

got a rough idea of route upto a1..
