Hello folks.
I've fitted 6x9's to my punto using a parcel shelf made from MDF. It looks not too bad but doesn't fit that well due to the curve on the original speaker surround in the boot. Does anyone have any ingenious ways of getting round this?
A word of advice which may seem obvious for those who are thinking about the same thing.. .
I've kept the original shelf which was unsuitable as it had a metal bar through it. I've also left the original speakers in place with the original wiring.
I put modified spade connecters on my 6x9's which fit into the original wiring.
Doing this means that if I have to take the parcel shelf out it takes about 10 seconds and nothing has been modified on the original wiring at all. It all goes back the way it was in seconds - ideal if the insurance man is paying a visit or if you want to sell it and keep your install.

Its exactly the same shelf ats the mk2 punto....the metal bar is only for support.

I wouldnt recomment wat it did, just 1 . either rip the metal bar right off the parcel shelf is well sturdy and will hold your 6x9's.

or saw out sections of the bar so the speakers will fit in, its no very hard at all.

taking the bar off wont affect the shelf.

heres a very old pic ive since changed my 6x9's and boot install.

What was your car when you started? Those headrests look like they are in the same cloth as my seats but I didn't think you could get headrests in that pattern?
I assume that the crappy plastic headrests can't be changed because there are so many modded cars with them - I know it's one of the first things that I'd change.

ive got the mk2 punto elx model...........

basically the best 8v model, comes with electric windows etc and those headrests are standard.

not sure the plastic ones can be re-placed.

my first punto had them stupid rubber headrests, uncomfiest thing ever.
