ice damage?

ice damage?

Only having had bother with the washer/boiler condensate pipe freezing up, up until last night they were draining into buckets.

Other than that the overflow pipe in the bathroom decided to disconnect and blow the transformer for the kitchen lights and create a small flood in the kitchen.

Ma dad was saying on Christmas day that parts of Troqueer in Dumfries had no mains water as the main pipes had all froze up.

My house has been ok bar one pipe that froze blocking all the sinks, one gentle defrost later all was well

Most the buildings nearby have lost buttering and a few didn't have any water for over a week

my house has been great. but as i say a friend had their living room roof cave in.

there living room was flooded as was the bathroom above. but we cant find any leaks. and nothing is leaking now. completely baffled as to how/what happened.

porch were the washing machine has only froze up but that has soon been sorted with a werehouse space heater :D

+ the Path by the garage has a HUGE crack in it now and its pushed the flags up outside the garage door , cant hardly open the garage door

First lot of snow this winter saw my guttering fall down but that's back up now. I've also had a leak inside my living room window that was caused by a build up of ice in the eaves that defrosted when the house warmed up. Apparently the resultant water forced it's way in through small nail holes leaving me with a flood of dirty water on my window sill (the photos that were previously there now have an unnatural sepia tinge)

And that's all I'll say as it's too early to give a proper damage report for the winter

Dunno if the blocked drain causing a flooded kitchen was down to ice or just the wonder that is poorly maintained Paisley drainage systems. I don't think I can contribute my broken fridge to ice damage though, that'd just be taking irony too far
