I am in the process of changing my setup. I would like to lose my 6x9's and replace them with front components. Can anyone make any recommendations. Don't want to spend a fortune, just get some reasonable ones to run off an amplifier.

2nd question, i have 2 amps which i want to keep for now, one is a kenwood 7201 which is an 800watt 2channel amp, the other is a collins 500watt amp, can't remember the exact details, but cheaper basically. Previously i had the collins running the 6x9's and the kenwood running my 12" pioneer w304c sub (600w peak, 300w normal). Would this be the best way to have the amps or would i be better with the kenwood on the components? Both amps have variable high and low pass filters and pass boost etc.

Cheers

Keep the kenny on the sub.

How much would you like to pay for components and what music do you like?

Re: Re: Ice Advice

i'm rather akward and do like quite a range of music, but the music which is most likely to make me turn it up is probably dance, now and then a bit of drum n bass but i figure you don't need midrange for that, just a sub and tweeters. lol Also chillout, but only ever as background music, never really loud.

amm...

without the midrangers you can't have any frequencies (i most probably wrote that wrong :S) between let's say 80hz-2000hz....
