I will soon be fitting my amps and speakers etc into the car, Just after some info,

The comp spkrs i am currnetly looking at at the Alpine 2way 150 watt max, these come with tweeters, Will the standard tweeters work ok with these or should i fit the new ones?
Also going to replace all four spkrs with these,
as these are 150 watt max and my amp is 2/1 channel 225 watt max what would the best way to wire these up as i intend only to have one amp in at the mo!

i would not bother with tweeters in the back as you wont hear them. if i were you i would get a 4ch amp

Re: Re: ICE Advice Please

wouldn't have the tweeters in the back alan i meant swop the O/E tweeters for the new ones, would i get any benefit? also i have these amps already

Re: Re: Re: ICE Advice Please

The Fiat tweets up front are poo, replace them!

I'd save money and not get rear speakers unless you plan on taking passengers. Get some real good fronts instead.

i dont really know what would happen with 2 speakers on 1 channel. it would work in parralel but im not sure what would happen with impedance etc. u may lose quality. i've done it at my parents house running 8 speakers from 1 sony stereo but all they listen to is radio 4, i've not got round to trying it properly

Tom i do carry passengers quite a bit as we go clubbing furtehr afield than my home town, i want it to sound good all over the car, i have 2 12" subs at home that i also got given but there are no labels on them or anything so i have no idea what to do with them, Are those Alpine speakers i am looking at any good? And has any used BOSCHMAN products as autocruise seame to be selling a lot on ebay and they go fairly cheap, 2x13"comps with tweets and crossovers

I had some boshman stuff years ago...and if i were you, i'd leave it well alone...

Running 2 speakers of one channel is fine as long as you bridge them, to allow the impedance to stay the same. My mate is running 8x40wrms speakers off a 4x100wrms amp, and has done for months without any problems.

I wouldn't touch boshman with a bargepole! I'd recomend getting some coaxes for the back rather than components.

You can run them from the same amp, just parallel up the speakers on each side of the car to each channel but then you won't be able to fade between front and back.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: ICE Advice Please

would it not be possible to wire them so i can't have left to right fade?

Also while we're on here bridgeing!
How do you bridge properly, will this depend on the amp and do i have the right one?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: ICE Advice Please

Yes, you would wire all the speakers on the left side of the car to ch1 and all on the right to ch2.

Bridging depends on the amp, not any use to you in this situation though, only for subs.
