Ah, well now I'm really confused
Both my post and yours are '1 day ago'. Which was first? Seems an amazing coincidence if yours was first! I found the video while searching YouTube for those tyre-valve LEDs, since I was trying to convince a friend that they gave circles and not sine-waves like bicycle reflectors (apparently!) It appears that over a million people have watched this video on YouTube (one of my all-time favourites), yet I've yet to see any of these wheels for sale in the real world, and the 'CustomWheels' website mentioned seems to be playing them down.

Anyway, in your thread, you then have people claiming that it's a repost... so very confusing for me! Of course if I posted first, then yours is indeed a repost - perhaps you meant that you thought of reposting it in the Leisure Lounge ah well it hardly matters I guess

Meanwhile I'm thinking of working on a cut-down monochrome version (white LED bars) but the fabrication will be difficult, particularly the inductive coils that would be necessary to power the things. The microcontroller will also need a large array in memory if the resolution is to be reasonable... and the switching would be perhaps 28,000 per second - which is high. The lookups would have to be in assembly language, which would be a bastard. Even so, I expect it would be cheaper than the US$12500-19000 price quoted.
