Hi All ,
I read this in the fiat hand book.

Lacking the ABS,there is the brake force distributor that acts on rear brake circuit accordingto load on rear axle. What does this mean.
Cheers

Brake load sensing valve, its nothing fancy. its a spring on rear axle drivers side that gets compressed with load. you will see it on rear by the wheel.

give it a squirt of wd40 make sure it moves freely.

mine has no abs, the front wheels tend to lock on wet surfaces whilst jamming the brakes.

Under heavy braking the weight will be pitched onto the front wheels and the back will tend to lift, as it does this the back wheels could lock which means no grip and the back could overtake the front which would be bad. To help prevent this the brake force distribution valve limits the amount of braking going to the back as the back lifts up, hence the back wheels are less likely to lock up which hopefully keeps the car straight.

What Johnhififan says is correct. The more load there is in the rear of the car then the more brake force that is applied to the rear axle.
