Hi All

I am looking for a company who can fit car stereos around the Rhyl North Wales area, dont mind travelling up to around 20-25 miles, I telephone halfords and they only fit there own equipment so they were no help, i found a place in Colwyn Bay "Good Motoring Ltd" who charges from £35 if no additional items are required, just wondering if anybody has used them and if so are they any good. Or do you know of any other company that can fit car stereos for around that price or cheaper.

Thanks

Louise

I brought everything from Halfrauds, they changed me £20 to fit my stereo.

Silly question time, have you got the facia adaptor too ?

I've just replaced my Fiat radio with the Aldi one - similar spec but with built in Bluetooth for hands free calling. £55 - offer was last Sunday so some Aldis may still have them...

I fitted it myself - have you considered trying to do it yourself - it is amazingly easy and there are some excellent threads on here giving guidance to give you the confidence to have a go!

Considered it but i have arthritis in my hands and not sure whether i would be able to get it out, and not sure on the wiring.

Is the wiring straight forward take out of the factory fitted one and plug in to new or will i need other adaptors, one came with the radio, but there is four wires sticking of the wire that came with it. So unsure whether these need fitting somewhere.

These are the wires what came with stereo and the wires out of the back of the stereo

If im not mistaken the 4 wires on the adaptor are for a output for a amp.

Should be pull the old radio out and you put that wire inbetween the stereo and the plug from the old radio.

Might me worth asking in the ICE Section.

Louise,

I live in North Wales too :) I've used Good Motoring before and they're quite good. Reasonably priced and they did a great job putting in a Pioneer head unit, iPod adaptor and a microphone for the bluetooth hands free. For the sake of £35 I certainly wouldn't bother doing it myself. I've ordered myself a 500 from Slaters in Abergele with the scrappage deal and once that arrives I'll be going to Good Motoring to get the head unit from my 406 put in the wifes car. I'd certainly reccomend them (y)

As a follow up I took the stereo out of my 406 today and it was very well installed. They'd taped everything onto existing bits of the loom, soldered bits in where necessary and it was just all neatly done.

Thanks 306maxi,

I'm going to give them a call tomorrow afternoon to get it booked in for Tuesday or Wednesday, as tomorrow morning i pick up the car from the dealers, then driving down to the caravan in Rhyl, thanks for your help greatly appreciated.

Louise, how did you get on with good motoring? :)

After all that ended up not using them, my Dad got involved and we used District Garage to fit it where we take our cars for servicing and mots, not had the bill yet though.... Should receive it shortly, got the radio fitted on the 20 July.

They've fitted it in around 15 minutes and no problems with it so far.

Now the radio turns off when I switch the engine off rather than having to switch off manual or wait for 20 minutes for it to go off on its own which I prefer, dont like leaving things switched on when car not in use.
