Pity we can't quite see the speedometer needle, but certainly the noise and power is brilliant. The engine bay looks seriously dodgy with that rubber hose curled around from the turbocharger!

Intercoolers and water/methanol injection perform differnet tasks so to speak. Injecting a fluid will lower the intake charge a few degrees but its main task is to control the burn temp, somthing an intercooler cannot do. On the flip side water/methanol injection cannot lower the intake tamp as much as as efficient intercooler. This is backed up by high spec cars running both, they are specialists at different tasks..

I am very supprised to see he doesn't have one though!

water/meth injection is just as effective as an good intercooler, Thats why methanol powered cars dont usually run intercoolers at all.

The info i've read, mainly from aquamist suggests otherwise and its not in their best interests to not big up the powers of said injection as their systems offer it.

I do hear what you're saying though and the fact in real life that people dont need IC's speaks for itself.

third gear spins is nothing,
my old uno span in 4th @ 100 in the dry with yoko tyres when the turbo kicked in and not using the clutch to make it spin, i cant prove it now but when the engine goes in the new one i just need to sort a plenum and a few other bits and it wont be far off,
if that uses methanol id like to know what size injectors hes using

yeh saw that vid tuther day, i was on about UT's and my mate - whos a mini buff (he's putting a vtec in his soon) and another mate (putting a 2.0 vaux lump in his) found it and said - yep, you should put one of them in a mini
