Hello

I have stumbled onto this website by acciedent, I was looking for UNO mods ( hehe can't find any )

I have a 1990 H reg Fiat UNO 45 fire, and its been really good, I was reading some posts and Bushboy mentioned about lowering it, how low should you go and will I need to change the suspention springs.

also are there any decent body kits for the UNO ? all I want to do is change the bumpers ?

Hope someone can help

Hei.

You can lower your Uno 40 mm by changing springs, still using the existing shock absorbers. Lowering more requires new shocks. I lowered mine 40 mm. It doesn't actually drop 40 mm because the coils are thicker and have more "rounds" of steel. It gets much stiffer though. Anyway, 40 mm looks very nice, and the car handles much better. I've got Monroe shocks, and Inter Alloy springs.

yeah you can... you xcan get them from HERE but you will need to get new shocks aswell. My uno is lowered 35mm all round with the original shocks... handles great BUT the ride can hardly be classed as smooth. I might end up getting replacement shocks someday.

As for mods and stuff... theres quite alot around.. you just have to know where to look.

As far as im aware there are 3 major production bodykits for the Uno. There are a few places in the Uk that you can purchase the ITEMs but there websites have crap photos SO have a look HEREand HERE first.. then goto

HERE to get the purchase the bodykits.(Goto 1. then A and then Fiat-Stilo-Uno) You cant order seperate parts from them because ive already asked BUT they said you can get the seperate parts (bumpers etc) from the importer who is HERE But it actually works out cheaper to buy the whole (green) bodykit in full than to get the parts seperate from the importer... strange... oh yeah

Theres also this bodykit HERE but you will find it very hard to get in contact with the sellers as i have yet had no responce from a few e-mails ive sent...

HERE you can get a spoiler for the uno (you can also get this one from most halfords)

Also if you go HERE you can get all the stuff that a decent site does for the uno (theres alot) and they also have the springs anmd shocks you were asking about and a bunch of other stuff.

I'll post some more if i can remember where it is :D Hope this helps

Oh

PS. Welcome to the UNO club heh

Cheers :D

Its a shame that the site with those bodykits has not replyed, cause they look sweat, shame I have a 5 door UNO though [V]

hehe oohhh well thanks for the help guys :D

P.S

Here is another quick question do you think tinted windows would look good on a UNO :)

Does that include the front windscreen?

Cause I heard that you are only allowed to tint the front window around 5 % due to law, so it does not make a vast difference?

I have found these lowering springs on Ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2442046214&category=40192

Do you think that these would be a good buy and will they fit an UNO 45 999c fire? :D

When tinting windows there must be 75% of the outside light inside the car checked with a light meter, so if you have a glass sun roof you can tint the back and side windows more coz extra light from sunroof gets in the car.

Please do not Email or PM me asking for support. Post on the forums instead. Your reply may help someone else. Thank you

Hei.

Yeah, I think they'll be ok. Mine is thicker though, at least it seems so. Most of the Unos (with small engines) have the same suspension layout.

Cheers Guys

Thanks for all the info, I am tinting my windows pitch black for the back and slightly smoked for the passenger and driver side windows (to keep on the good side of the Law hehe :D )

I am also lowering it 40mm and I am trying to get hold of some allows, I am also trying to get hold of a spoiler from halfords and fitting two 12" subs and refurbishing the interior.

I will also be changing the front and rear bumbers for either the Turbo modles or another, and giving it a whole new respray.

I will post pics of before and after to see what you think, but it will take some time as I am a student and pay is SH*T hehe :D

Ill be posting if any problems occur.

Thanks again Twig
