My lovely 1.2 Lounge in Funk White has come home!

I picked it up yesterday and can't believe how beautiful it is! Took it for a drive but can't believe how dirty it's got already! I've got Gard X and they also threw in the cleaning product. Just wondering if i should use the Gard X wash and wax product on the whole car, alloys and wheels included. Any advice guys?

Unless you got the gard-x for free you wont like what i'm about to say (sorry) it is an absolute rip off if you did pay i'd hazard a guess it was somewhere between £150-£300? you can pick the kits up from e-bay for £5-£15 and do it yourself....

I'd use what you have got for now however don't expect the coating to offer protection beyond 12 months most of the shampoos these types offer leave a film behind to make you think its still well "waxed" as water will bead.....

Not to mention the storied i have heard where by the valeters in some dealerships are private contractors paid by the car so they faster its done the more they earn. read a story on Detaling world where the valeter was seen to use Superguard on the bonnet and roof and that was it...

have a good rummage on here and Detailing world

have a look at this for tips on cleaning your car well

i use 2 builders buckets but don't use grit guards and have no major problems....

I'd get a cheap washmit for the wheels as you wont want to be dragging brake dust all over the car,,,

Amen to that! I got mine applied when I bought the car but I wish I hadn’t now. You are supposed to keep reapplying it every few months and I haven’t bothered recently (to be fair im lazy when it comes to constant care). The car has now lost its nice shine completely, What a waste of £200

Waxes and sealants don't make your car shine. They just protect the paint from the environment. It's what's underneath that determines shine and reflection levels.
