Does this have to be sealed back into place... and also what do i use to seal it?

Cheers

just wondering as when i took it off, it seems to have some black sealent which makes it stick on a bit.. if you dont need to then thats a lot easier just curious and need to know asap haha

Well, car needed new gearbox (we thought) so bought a new gearbox £260 as old one jumped out of third gear.. well when we got the old box out there was a spark plug wedged in the gap for the gear selector so we assume that was it.. instead of the hassel we're putting the new one back in. We swapped the old hydralic thurst bearing with the new one as the new one was quite corroded. So now to put the original one back in we need to know if its sealed or not sealed to fit it back on the bar in place. I cant really describe it but thats the problem lol

Lol, so clean off the silocone and just bolt the other one into place? without sealant or anything?
