brilliant, bloody brilliant.

im supposed to go into college tomorrow to complete the details to a course i've been accepted on, or so i thought.

i was on the reserve list for the course and got an offer of a place on it last week. brilliant, im sorted. so i sort funding etc, get all my student stuff sorted out, log on to my emails and theres a message from the college.

sorry to say this course is no longer going ahead.

thanks for that, could you not have given me more notice than 14 hours? that is a years plans gone with just 14 hours notice, what the hell am i supposed to do now?

im going in tomorrow anyway just to embarras them for their utter incopetence, they will have hell to pay.

surely if they've had that much interest that there was a reserve list the course should run. I could understand if it was under subscribed, sounds like there taking the pi$$

well, went in this afternoon pretending i didnt get that email so i could give someone a rolicking...and i did.

apparently, theres been alot of rejected offers, they needed 15 to make the course worth running and only got 8. they were supposedly waiting on all the reserve list getting back to them before deciding.

NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

lovely how they try to pacify ou with, "i know it's frustrating" no you don't luv. no disrespect but you've not just been told that not only do you now not have anything to do, but you're main source of income has now been taken away from you without warning.

we've more or less been sold up the river tbh, they didnt even offer us a place on another course, basicly, it's just tough,

i'm looking into what options i have against the college, but unfortunatley, there doesnt seem to be much i can do about it

I've heard of this happening with modules in a degree (optional ones at that), but full courses are another matter. I hope it works out for you Mark, sucks that they've fecked up like this

Ah feck, it sounds like you've been hit by the further education cutbacks. I agree it's crap they didn't give you more notice and I cannot justify what they did it at all. Sadly we're all feeling it at the moment
