On my headunit there are no additional ports in the back all there is is the block connection bit do i need to take a feed from one of the cables or more than one. Ive got connection block thats not a problem, im just wondering which wire/wires to feed from?

No, the block conector (ISO) is high level output. to wire to RCA, you need line level outputs.

i am wanting to buy an amp to power my sub in my boot whihc i allready have. at the min i have just got it feeding off my right rear speaker with bass full blast and its not really that bassy at all so i would like to get an amp to beef it up. but i dont have any rca output in the back of my headunit

Some amps will accept high-level inputs, so thats one option (wire directly from your rear speakers to the amps high level input) or to do a proper job of it, upgrade your headunit to one with RCAs (aka Pre-outs) and do it that way - HEADUNIT RCA > AMP > SUB

EDIT: in my experiance, the second option produces better bass at better quality, so i would strongly recommend that route.

Im not going to invest in a new headunit just quite yet. Ill just run my sub off a feed near my rear speaker for the time being. Its ok but not the best but for now its ok.
thanks for all your advice and answers (y)

maybe in a year ill upgrade see how it goes
