Are there any pictures or videos of these cap things? All I see are cables coming from the general direction of the lights. I am trying to change the passenger side and as you will know there is hardly any room in the engine compartment to work rather than see anything?
Do you have a mk2 or a 2b? as the procedure is slightly different depending on which version you have.
The mk2's have two big caps that you remove by pulling aside the metal retaining clips and the 2b's have individual circular caps.
On a 2b....
Remove cap 1 (nearest radiator)
Remove connector A to reveal sidelight bulb B. The bulb simply pulls out of the holder.
On a Mk2 its slightly different....
Pull back the metal clamp 1a and remove the cover 1b.
The sidelight bulb is located just under the full beam bulb and you simply pull it out of the light fitting whilst squeezing in the two plastic tabs. Again the bulb simply pulls out of the holder.
