Technical How to remove upper dashboard?

Hi guys!
I've been coming on here a while to get help with converting my steelies to fit baby moon hubcaps on my fiat 500 as I'm changing the whole car to look as vintage as possible, but I've reached a sticking point. I can't figure out how to remove the upper dash, above the gloss panel with the badge. Literally the very top, any ideas? I want to spray it red, but there's no way I could mask it off without destroying the interior. Could it be fixed on under the bonnet?

The whole dash is one piece, it's a long process of removal of all the bits round it and all switches, gearstick, steering wheel etc, took me 3 hours to remove and 4 to put all back together. Not something I would recommend unless you really have to

Oh wow sounds like a lot of work :O.... I'll see if I can mask it off well on a day off and if not I'll have to leave it. Thanks for your help typecastboy

any local places able to vinyl wrap it for you in situ?

Would lose the texture and might glare with the sun beating down on it that's one thing to consider. Might be possible to plastidip rather than paint I situ though providing enough care is taken when doing it

I'm sure if you were able to mask off everything you could get a paint that would be suitable. Have you thought about some sort of dye that you could put on with a cloth instead?

You can easily take the coloured dash trim off, just a few screws. At least you wouldn't need to mask that off then
