Remove the vinyl, looks tacky and cheap.

Leave the black rubbing strips on there, as 'centos are made from tin foil to it'll get peppered with dents from car parks if you remove them.

Agree with the vinyl - it looks cack

the side strips are glued on, so just warm them up and pop them off, then get some cleaning product to get off the glue remains.

There may be a hole at one end where the bump strip pops into, it is very tiny but a simple abarth badge would cover it, however you can always leave it if you so wish

There isnt really much you can do the side of the vehicle, other than what you have suggested doing which is remove the side strips

The side strips are held on using tigerseal, I thought you would need a toffee wheel to remove that completely.

You will have a small 5mm hole at the ends of the doors, but non on the cars qaurter pannel.

Peronsally unless your willing to throw the half a days work on each side to get the tigerseal carefully off I would leave them. Otherwise you could damage the paintwork underneath, and potentially lose your rag.

If your careful and have alot of patience go for it.

(I prefer the mk1 side strips are it's just a peice of vinyl, hairdryer and a steady hand = good results (y), however yours is a mk2, DOH!!!)

Thanks

wow how helpful haha and yeah im just gunna leave them on and take off the vinyl, will i need to heat up vinyl atall

good choice mate bin the stickers but keep the bump strips if you want to make it look abit better mask it off and get some plastic prima and body coloured paint and colour code them personally think it looks smoother but if you do colour code do it properly as if its not the right prima it WILL peel and look cack but thats my opinion lol

Colour code your door handles too. Ditch all the trim and weld the holes up. Loose any stickers. If you're really feeling up to it, say goodbye to the door handles and use a solenoid remote set up.

On the hole front, I de-trimmed a Volvo 240 estate and left the holes, all 175 of them....wonder why......still, it looked so much cooler.

Hey - all good advice above - but if you want to use the car and not worry about scratching up your door handles with the keys (think of how many other people might be cack handed when opening the door) - I wouldnt bother painting them. But thats just me personally

Refinished / aerosol paint is nowhere near as hard wearing as the original paint.

if i was going to clean it then, removeing strips and full delock would be the 1st thing to do. cliford alarm and poppers for the door. also means you can have the keyless engine start. bit further down the line you would be looking at removing and smoothing side repeaters, front light brows, and some nie 13" dished alloys. would look the dogs danglys.
