walk into anthony betts dealership in either hemel hempstead or watford

walk past the fiat section

into the suzuki area

ask for their current deal on the SX4*, cash price £9999
pay deposit of, £1059
and 60 months at £149.00

*air con, remote central locking, tints, full airbags, etc, etc, etc.....

now if suzuki can offer the dealers this to get in the punters, perhaps fiats bean counters could do the same? after all, i am led to beleive they are the same car....

Nope, not same car. Fiat has proper 4x4 drive and is much better equipped.

I'm sure the small print on the suzuki ad is 0% on the 2wd version

Quite interested in the sedici but will have to wait a few months until I can find a diesel eleganza for around 10k

2wd, 4wd, this that the other, swings roundabouts and he said she said, essentially the same car, with the manufacturers taking their own twist, but, in times when intrest rates are not looking so good, suzuki can take their car and offer a far better deal than fiat will, how many sedici punters will look across the showroom, and think, same looking car, ok only 2wd but....cheaper and lower finance?

having said that, all deals, fiats included are due to end on 31/03/2007...new financial year....new incentives...new deals?

Yeah cars built by Suzuki in Hungary, so have Suzuki running gear and Suzuki petrol engines, the only thing provided by Fiat is the diesels. Fiat only offered in 4WD which in some markets has been detrimental to its sales success as the 2WD is cheaper to produce and is lighter and more frugal on fuel.

Fiat do not make one that looks as good as this, will be run at 3 full WRC events this year before full tilt at championship next year.

Well the Fiat's UK list prices are well above those of the Suzuki. But it is better equipped and when you actually go shopping for a sedici, you find that it is possible to get almost 25% off.. which compares with perhaps 10% off a SX4 and rather changes the balance of advantage. And since the 4x4 is switchable, the extra fuel penalty in 2wd mode is only the result of the extra weight of the 4x4 running gear, meaning the diesel Fiat is only about 7gms of CO2 thirstier than the diesel Suzuki..... this is not enough to push it into the next VED band and both cars cost £165 pa in duty. At the right (discounted) price and spec, the Sedici is a lot of motor for the money....
