Ive found a P75 engine at a scrappy.
The place is pretty good (warranty on all the parts) and keep documents of engine mileage.
anyway the bloke himself was shocked to see the engine only has 9k miles on it. and its logged as a perfect runner. he wants £100 for it.
How would I check if it is really such a low mile block? the cam definitely looked good with only the top of the peaks shiny. (my engine with 70k on it has shiny bits on the slops up to the peak (if that makes sense))
Its a bit oily on one side but i think its how its been sitting.
Any more ideas for proof of age? the gearbox and half of the drive shafts are there. tomorrow ill look at the drive shaft boots. mine are pretty cracked at 70k

Mileage is no guideance on quality and reliability so as long as its warrantied, and your willing to swap it back out, then just go for it.

As for price, im not up to date on how much these go for, but if it has ancilleries i'd grab it personally.

thanks guys! I own the engine now (£100 and got a P60 throttle body/manifold) ive did the mod that includes the original top from the SPI and p75 bottom. 2 hours work on my lathe and its fitted to my 1.1.

and i say.... f***ing wow! the car is not the same! and the induction noise is amazing.
The car took about 2mins to settle. it reved its ****** off for a couple of seconds (thought i had a air leak)

I cant wait to get the 1.2 with the uber cam in my car. (no time soon as im going to get the block decked and do some porting.)

first photo is of the p75 disk sitting onto of the p60 TB. the cinq (p55) disk is even smaller (looks silly when there side by side)

As you have probably change dthe TPS sensor on the throttle body, there is a procedure to recalibrate it.

I THINK it's start teh car, and full throttle 3 times in quick sucession...turn off, then restart.

That AFAIR recalibrated the TPS.

If the TPS was out, the idle valve prob went mental and let loads of air past, hence the high reving.

If its runnign fine now though, don't worry :)
