Hi, I am trying to bleed the clutch on my partners 500 after replacing cracked quick release connector. I’m not sure how to bleed it properly, I’ve been trying but when I release the bleed screw an pump the clutch pedal rather than fluid coming out the nipple it just comes out the bleed screw? Is this normal?

Also, I have put everything back together once to see if when car is running what the clutch felt like and have noticed that after running for a few minutes an changing gear while stationary a rattling/ grinding noise has appeared? Could this be due to air in the system an clutch not disengaging properly?

Yep normal fluid everywhere do you have a helper to press the pedal?
Air in the system unlikely to cause grinding noises, rattling is most likely the release bearing, what was the reason for bleeding the system what year is the car?

I wanted to bleed the system because I removed the quick release connection and replaced with straight compression fitting, lost a lot of fluid while doing it. Was worried air had got in while I was messing around. Got a helper in the end and a just kept at it until I was satisfied. Taken the car for a drive an all seems to working as it should, there’s still a small amount of noise, could have been there before an I just hadn’t noticed.
