Hi guys,

I have a 1996 fiat ducato 10 and I'm having some troubles with the clutch. In the last few days it has started crunching when I put it in reverse and 1st can be dificult to get into. These things only seem to happen when it is hot, which I thought was odd. The only other detail I can add is that the biting point is very low, as in only an inch or so from the floor and i really have to push it a long way right to the floor to change gears.

I did a little research online about clutch adjustment, but I just cant seem to find the nuts and things people talk about. I bought a manual online but the pictures are appalling and all white washed out.

Any help would be great
Cheers

Ok so I have taken a few photos to see if this helps at all as I'm just not sure what to adjust. I have tried adjusting the nuts in the photos a little but they don'tseem to want to move....

Hi,

I had a 98 Ducato, but can't relate to your photos!

However the clutch cable is adjusted at the clutch lever end by releasing a locknut and then screwing the adjusting nut up and down the threaded sleeve of the outer clutch cable as required.

As the position of the clutch lever is determined by the amount of wear on the clutch plate all this will do is alter the position of the clutch pedal, but the idea is to get the clutch pedal level with the brake pedal thus giving the correct amount of travel when you depress the pedal.

Ah ok awesome thanks. I will try and take a wider picture from under the bonet and post it on here. I shall give a look into the nuts, im fairly sure thats the clutch lever. I wasn't even sure if I was meant to be tightening or loosening tbh :) Thanks Crossingkeepero
