Hello

after the dashbord disco problem i was connecting MSE to see if there are any stored errors.
I need to visit german TUEV this month and would like to have no errors then ;)

Everything ok, but browsing some menues i noticed strange values for temperatures
Air temperature twice above 30degrees
In my garage there are only about 19deg today
Maybe under the hood temperature is higher because the engine has still not cooled down since i had used it this morning for about 90km.
Oil temperature TA unit above 30deg
Oil temperature 3deg???
Starting the engine didn't show any difference
Is this a MSE problem, or could that be a problem with my oil temperature sensor?

regards Jo

runs fine
Beside the strange value of the oil temperature there is no problem
Maybe there is a simple reason for this misreading.
I tryed to get a replacement sensor.
It seems to be hard to find
Maybe there is no one :)
As the oil temperature is very important for the UniAir unit, the Fiat technicians may put the sensor there, instead of somewhere else on the motor.
So the reading of the UniAir sensor ist the right one
When there ist no second sensor, MSE canot read propper values.
I will keep an eye on that and read out the sensor values again when the engine is hot

Is posting about this in the last week,

Take a look 🙂

@Tropicalmike did some resistance readings on the uniair oil temperature sensor for me to compare to on my TwinAir thread over in Punto section. You could compare your resistance to check the sensor before replacing as they are expensive.

When I tested mine, I didn't plug it back in and got an error code, also in that thread a couple of posts on.

But we didn't find a second oil temperature sensor even though MES reported one with uniair sensor unplugged. Im seeing an oil temperature reports on 950+ in mes when it was logging P1062-71 earlier in the thread.

Oddly my Tipo Multijet which is new to me was also having an error on map sensor temperature reading way too high (P0096-00). Map sensor is inlet manifold pressure and temperature and was dirty, but replaced it.

I wouldn't worry too much about temperature you see until you get an error code.
