Help, I want to get rid of my HGT but I don't know what to expect and I can't fin ay price guide that has it.

'00 HGT 155, 1 year old (been on road for 6 months)
Totally standard
1 owner (me!) + Fiat (had 2.5 miles on clock when I bought it, so it wasn't used as a demonstratotr)
Broom Yellow
17,000 miles
FFSH
All Bills
New tyres on Front
1 of last 25 RHD made.

I am desperate as I want to buy a new car and don't know what to either advertise it at orto ask for on a trade in!

Here are the prices...

Glass's guide says:
Year Plate Retail A1 Ave Bad Mileage
(To buy)
2000 V 8495 6930 6680 6500 22000
2000 W 8910 7280 7020 6840 20000
2000 X 9380 7730 7470 7280 14000

Parkers says:
Year Plate A1 Good Fair Trade-in
2000 V 9340 8635 9185 7535
2000 W 9875 9130 9710 7970
2000 X 10500 9710 10325 8470
(looks like Good and Fair are mixed up??)

Big difference between the two price guides, like someone once said a car is worth what someone will pay for it....

Many thanks

It was a bit less than I was hoping, but many thanks for the info. I think I will try for £10k

Cheers

I am going for...

a Saab 9-3 2.0T Aero H.O.T.
205bhp, 0-62 in 6.9, Top Speed 146, all the toys
or
a Saab 9-5 2.3T Aeo H.O.T.
230bhp, 0-62 in 6.5, limited to 155!,even more toys!

On an import, the 9-3 is circa £16,500 and the 9-5 is circa £19,000. And they are both the same insurance group as my HGT.

But it all depends on gettin rid of the HGT!

Saabs are rebadged Vectra's !!!

Cheap at the mo, but it's a Vectra Floorpan and engine :(

Yes but...

remember that the 9000 was a rebadged Alfa 164, which is one of the best Italian cars of recent years, far better than anything Fiat have produced.

Given a choice I would rather have a Saab than a Fiat HGT, especially a H.O.T.! And I have the choice so long as I can get rid of my HGT. I am still keeping my 1.4 sx Bravo though ....

Re: Yes but...

Nigel, definately go for the 9-5 if you can afford it, is a better car in just abot every way, and has just been tweaked quite nicely too! It is one very smart car.

Just Think....

Technically, if GM and Fiat are going to be sharing floorplans and components etc, then Saab will become a lot more closely related to Fiat!

No it Aint - Have investigated!

The new version out in September is the Vectra Floorpan, the existing 9-3 isn't. Now I know!

Cavalier Floorpan

9-3 Is actually a Cav floorpan. I had a 900 Turbo (the last) and loved it. Scatty but great fun to drive. Have you thought about a used Viggen?

Re: Cavalier Floorpan

Sorry Nigel, but that's quite funny that you're buying a tarted up Cavalier.

Nice looking motor though......badge helps too

tarted up cavalier

it gave me a wry smile as well when I found out! However, I still think it a 100% improvement on a Bravo HGT! I havent got it yet, and now it doesn't look too good as I can't sell my HGT for anywhere near what I need to even though it is only 6 months old!
