should brake shoes on drum brakes last.

Tonight i was greeted with faint grinding from the rear drums that wasnt there before?

I doubt theyre worn, as the front pads are fine.

Could it be bacause the car was sitting in the damp all day and didnt move? :?:

I'd find it unlikely. How many miles you done now?! Can't be more than 7k?! Would be surprised if they would start fading THAT quickly! :?

Even still, I'd be surprised.

it can wait till its 1st service- as long as the wheels dont come fleeing off

well I've had 2 services and still no problems...front ones were another story, had grinding for like a week and didn't worry about it since the service was due...ended up replacing brake disks AND pads....

Might be just the cold and the fact it hadnt moved all day, did you leave the handbrake on while it was parked up?? Sometimes find if the handbrake is on when its cold when it comes to moving off it grinds a bit.

Just watch you aint pulled the handbrake too tight like i did and ripped them off leaving a spinning mess in your drum.

Once wit hmy 205 a spring had either broken off/got into the drum somehow and lodged between the drum and the brake shoes, made a nasty grinding noise too!
