BOO! Me again, long time no see hey:p

Erm, im searching t'internet at the mo at 1.9JTD Multiplas for sale and was wondering
how important the air con is?, do these cars get as hot as normal cars in the sunshine or more so as it has large windows? Do the sun roofs have roof blinds/covers?

thanks Emm:)

I find it essential if travelling with the family. I will say that the Multipla climate control is a bit gutless (was in Fiat Idea the other day and it froze the proverbials off a monkey).

I have had no maintenance problems (over the 3 yrs had the 1.9JTD ELX), but will probably look to get a service quite soon. So I would say "yes", essential.

In a car that has as much glass as a Multipla does, AC or CC is essential in my opinion. It's like driving in a glasshouse.

I'd say it affects re-sale values, too. When I was looking, I didn't consider cars without it.

Cheers, Hedge

ELX do, yes. Can't speak for non-ELX versions.

interesting thankyou! Its all a mindfield to me atm, lots to learn, maybe i should have gone to the ugly bug ball after all, would have been worth it just to have a good look around the various models :spin:

Four summers ago, we went to the Mosel in my last multi (no a/c) and thought we'd all die of heat prostration! It was very hot weather...

Went two summers ago in the current a/c model - the weather was just as hot, but we were much more comfortable.

Unless it's amazingly cheap, don't consider one without a/c.

Most of my cars have had AC, my other car at the moment has, and to be perfectly honest I dont miss it.

On really hot days I sometimes think AC would be nice, but its no big miss.

As for saying "Unless it's amazingly cheap, don't consider one without a/c"

What a load of utter crap

The multi is no warmer than other cars, and lets face it, this is the UK, 90% of the time AC is pretty pointless.

What a polite and well brought up chap you are!

The opinions of others are just as valid as yours are. I personally, would not choose to buy a Multi without a/c. You would.

Not the end of the world, and nowt to get excited about. :)

Polite, well brought up? Make no assumptions about me, unless you know me well enough to pass judgement.

Your comments needlessly devalue Multi's without AC which in a two model range is a comment that affects a lot of forum members cars; on that basis my comment is more than justified.

If this is nothing to get exited about, then refrain from adding personal insults to your posts for that is how i view your comments on my upbringing.

"TinyUK" - I think you are being unreasonably rude. "Refrain from making personal insults" etc...after you called his comments "a load of utter crap".

Er, slightly hypocritical, no?

I don't think the comments devalue a non-AC Mulitpla whatsover. It's just an answer/ opinion to a question put by a complete stranger, after all; people can either choose to agree or not.

Your responses are aggressive and you're massively over-reacting to the comment about how you were brought up, to say the least. This is a forum about people carriers, what's the need for all this?

I'm sure you'll come back and give me an earful now, though. Yawn.

that seems a bit harsh (n) in response to someone's personal opinion.

I would also say, if you can get one with, go for it, ours is broken and it is flippin' hot in there even if it's not blazing hot outside.

Personally I would not consider any car, multi or other that didn't have ac or cc.

In my view you really do need AC in a Multi and I think they do get hotter than the normal MPV certainly more so that the citroen we used to have.

looking at a multipla as the bravo is a little to small. for me, and i would say a lot of other people looking, one without A/C is a no go. same with anycar...

I don't have it and I reckon that's only gonna be any sort of issue 2-3 days a year. I also reckon it's just one more (rather complex) thing to fail.

 hellooo! Many thinaks for all your replys, they are all very helpful(y)
but please dont argue:(.

The reason i ask is that ive always had small cars (kitcar/seicento's/cinquecento's/brava/uno's/peugeot205)
Ive never even had a ride in a MPV ,
Ive noted the Multipla has alot of glass compared to my other cars and my other half commented on how warm it would get in there in the sun, i was wondering if he was just fussing:confused: I dont tend to open sunroofs much as i dont want my head burnt!
Just browsing Multiplas for sale atm, if my 'dream' one came up for sale id need to make a decision quick, so just compiling my spec wish list:)

thanks again(y)
Emm

I'd say it's useful to have and if it's fitted, at least you have the choice whether to use it or not!
