We all know that garages should or do use the same computer software to tell them how long a job should take.

I dont have the time to change a cam belt so rang a couple of garages up this morning to get it booked in for tomorrow.

FIAT - 2hr30 to complete job £160+ vat
Garage 1 - 2hrs 55 to complete job £140+vat
Garage 2 - 1hr 30 to complete the job £69 inc vat.

The software which I have access too says Garage 2 is correct so what is going on? why the differnce do all mechanics think people are stupid?

Its a free market economy, choose your garage with the equation :-

Time x Labour costs + overheads divided by the amount of work they have on and their desire for a steady Customer base.
