Is your button not working or missing?

Pushed until I'm blue in the face.

Tried with the key and still wont open.

Just had a look at the MOT handbook and all it says is that a bootlid must be secured or capble of being secured in the closed position.

Had this issue with my Range Rover and they refused to pass it because the tailgate wouldn't open.

Should open with central locking, think most Tipos have that but the motors can burn out. If not then does it unlock with the key? Should be a half turn with the key. The locks are a type where if it's locked, the button will still push in but nothing happens.

Otherwise you'll need to access the boot by dropping the rear seats and take the plastic cover off the back of the tailgate to investigate.

Cheers.

Probably just a duff electrical connector........there's a surprise:cool:

if it's central locking stick your ear to the boot why the locks are opened you should hear it click if it's working. has it ever worked? any chance of it being frozen shut or something?

don't see how it'd fail an MoT unless it was unable to remain shut, though how do the 600 abarths pass MoT's? lol.

ps: get some pics up of the Range Rover in the members motors non fiat section, your webby isn't working.

had same problem with mine, like hellcat said pull back seats down and remove plastic cover and open boot with the catch on the lock, it was because i had pushed the button in before the central locking had unlocked fully, there is a white plastic guide which moves up and down to unlock and lock the boot, it is connected to the motor by a bit of cast metal, if you push the white plastic bit up or down (cant remember which) and close boot it should work off the bootlid button and should work ok with the central locking as well then
