Technical How do you get the rear flexy hoses off?

As per title, I have spent the afternoon in all sorts of contorted positions trying to get these off but access is minimal to release the solid brake pipe union.

Sitting here I wondered if I could lock the union and turn the flexible part?

It ain't covered in the Haynes apart from a side note for the fronts.

gex looked at this for doing stainless hoses for the rear, concluded the fuel tank has to come off

I thought this was the case but clutched at straws thinking there would be an easier way, fcuk!

had a look at this on mine and decided that it could be done if you removed the rear suspension, so best left to when you do the rear bushes.

yup it looks like a real biatch.ive left mine for now as im having enough problems with the brakes
had wondered if i could get access with the brake flaring tool just to cut the pipe and flare on a new section but it looks like it could be a problem.
hoping during the summer i will get clear enough to get a good look/attempt art the rears

Hi all,

Yeah the tank really needs to come out, kinda tricky on your own but possible, aided by the fact the I only let the exhaust off the hangers it means it comes down nice and easy without issues.

The you have acres of space to work.

I cut an 11mm spanner with a grinder to try and cheat but it was not successful.

cant you just lower the rear subframe?
