Hi All I have managed to removed the starter ok but I noticed when I fitted new one reconditioned Bosch their is a frayed wire an earth at the back I think it is?
Iam wondering if this has been the problem maybe touching the armature casing it would start car and if it doesnt well I wasnt going anywhere.
Ive managed to get it starting off the key no problem now but what Iam wondering was the wire at fault or the starter or both?
What I was thinking how do I check the old starter out of interest?
do I get a spare battery 2 pieces of wire 1 live and 1 earth on the starter solenoid and bridge the earth over to the circles on the armature casing and test this way?hopefully get a click or will I get more ha!ha!
