General How do I fit a stereo in this thing?

hello all,
I've got a 1997 EL and after a recent engine and gearbox change, the radio keeps asking for a code that I do not have. So I thought that I'd use this opportunity to attempt to change the stereo to a CD player.
I have no knowledge about fitting stereos and would be grateful for any help given.
An idiot's guide would be good!

Ah no worries, I'm working the weekend or would have offered to help then. Haven't seen a Ulysse personally but am imagining you'll need the following:

• New stereo (duh)
• Fascia adaptor
• ISO adaptor cable

Might be worth having a scour on ebay, etc for the last 2, the first will obviously be personal choice so decided on a budget yourself for that one

i just fitted a cd player n the iso leads i got from halford needs to b wire to a perment live so i put it in to some perm live under the stearin cowling thats if u av the same iso lead as me only took 15 min to fit aswell

Good to know, but would the ISO leads be compatible with the '97 model or will I have to attempt a more permanemt solution?

I think 15 mins will be a bit ambitous for me, but I'm giving it a go this weekend.

Any mushroom clouds in the wakefield area will most likely be me!

Should be compatible, but as gav said, might need to splice in a permanent live feed to stop it losing memory (and possibly switch the ignition live to stop it killing your battery, too). As I said, happy to lend a hand if you find yourself in a bind

all i did was just push the wire under the brown conector on mine under the colum behind stearin wheel not ad any troube with it coming out n when i turn the power off i keep my memory
oh and also i did have to change the perment live with memory live on my cd player iso leads but u will find that out if you av to do the same after you fit it and try it hope this helps
