The thing is the way the power is delivered. Raw figures might suggest the diesel Brera is a viable alternative to a petrol car but the problem is in a diesel you only get usable power from about 2 thousand rpm to a bit over 3 and a half thousand and then you'll find yourself changing gear again. Turbo diesels have the annoying habit of having enough power to get you alongside another car then not having enough power to actually get you properly past. Diesels are deeply unsatisfying things to driveTrust me, the Brera Diesel has enough power to overtake! it has a lot more torque than the V6 too, so it should pull well once the turbo winds up.
