This is true because the alfa 147's body is heavy and needs to have the 2.0 T.Spark lump to move t about. With the 2.0 147 ul get beta economy as ul have to floor it less to get it to move.

i used to just head somewhere/anywhere i didnt know. then the challenge was to get home without using the map!!!!!!

Hi all,

I can get over 50 mpg on my TD100 - this is with a 20 mile drive to work and back, on mostly straight roads. I dont floor it though..

thats good going on a TD100, where do u live and is it doing like 60mph country road?

mine suffers a lot as I live ont pennines so everywhere I go its hills, hills and more hills

If I go to my brothers down near swindon, its flatter and the change in mpg is quite substantial

Hello all,

well I reckon (calculated) about 50 anyway. the roads around me are mostly flat, tippin along at 60 where possible, i live in the midlands in Ireland. I used to drive it a bit harder when i got it first but i dont think it made a huge difference. BTW, was in england a few weeks ago and when i saw the average price of diesel and worked it out in euro i thought feckin hell !! we think we have it bad at almost a euro a litre at the minute but its costin ye about 1.30 euro !!. serious..

1.6 16v £30 of petrol at 80.9p 327miles until the redlight was staying on constant(red on starting the car)

thats with all my mods too but i have been driving like a grandad! (every one overtakeing me off the lights etc)

if i give it some i can burn a tank of fuel in around 150miles but then i can keep up with tommyk's 150bhp jtd lol
