Ok.. I'll say sorry in advance but I just worked out the last MPG on a full tank....

470miles on 11 gallons..

42Mpg!!!

Thats shocking!!

Take the clog off your right foot! I average 45-50 on local runs (hilly country)and 55-60 on holiday.(MPG NOT MPH!)

Strange but true........

both my HGT 155's gave a better return than my Alfa 147, which is only a 1.6 petrol!!!

It's apalling.

470 is still much better than the 300-350 i get on a 1.8 petrol bravo

But your 1.8 has a smaller tank that the JTD. 10 litres more capacity in the JTD (@ 2 gallons).

Therefore, 350 from 9 gallons = 39mpg.

the JTD has a 60 liter tank.. but I was going from red light to red light... both times needed 50liters untill it clicked off...

Ok 42Mpg isn't too bad.. but its not great!

uve got nothin 2 worry about my td100 only does, 380 to a tank and diesel is dear stuff.

Except for an on board computer the most reliable method of calculating mpg is full tank fill ups anything else is just pissing in the wind. I have the impression that many don't ever fill their tanks but run on a meagre £10 or £15 fill each time and make an accurate asessement of economy by a vague flashing light. Is this because they are skinflints or tight students?

644 miles on a full tank, measured full to full on a JTD.

I find the low fuel light a joke on the bravo cos when on it never goes off, it has been known to come on while on my way to work but then when I start it up to go home its off and I can make it nearly 10 miles home before it comes back on (bit of a hill to climb so guessing the fuel going to one end of the tank triggers the low level light).

These things really are so inaccurate and as just stated the only way your gonna know an exact MPG is to go from empty to full and back.

But if your cars as quick as claimed Tommy then even that figure is pretty impressive!

I just will not part with my HGT one dddiesel in the household is enough!

be thankful ur getting that on ur JTD, my TD100 does 350-400 orange light to orange light, it will do 550 if u sit @ 56mph all the way to Germany once but that was following the minibus towing a trailor

ok... ok!!! I'll quite complaining... I'lkl just driving more ecconically!

Im on a new idea this tank full...

See how many miles i can get out of it... so far not very good.. town driving and stuck in quees all the time don't help matters :(

Yes I'm a poor student... averaging £90 a week on Diesel

£90 a week? i do a lot of miles (hence my search for a good diesel) and use half that much.. do you drive 100 miles to uni every day or something ?

£90! Do you live in London and commute to
St. Andrews? £90 of diesel will buy you around 1000 miles a week, maybe more.

People who drive for a living do that sort of mileage. Perhaps if you spent less time driving you could spend more time studying?

Maybe you made an error.

Well i've had the car 3 weeks and clocked up nearly 2800 miles!

Impressive even if i do say so myself!!

Wot can i say.. i just love driving my Bravo!

where the hell do you drive to tho, £90 a week is shocking, surely thats not right??!

i put 22000 miles on my bravo in 9 months!!!!!!

that was when i first bought it....the last 3 months ive had to keep out the car as much as possible as i cant afford it.....i put the other 3000 miles on in the last 3 months!!!

the first few weeks i had the car there was times when i went to the petrol station twice in one day......and i ALWAYS fill up when i go!!!!

on average i was putting £20 a DAY in..... i almost lived in it.....every spare minute i would be drivin!!!!!

now i put £30-£40 a week in on average

I do 60 mile a day plus running out and in to collage. and driving around here and there in the weekends, i would normly do about 700 miles a week and spend £80 on fuel for the old td100.

i've only done 7000 miles in my bravo in the last twelve months lol.

Yup Yellow HLX knows wot im goign through.. for the first 3 weeks i just had to drive my car.. id just drive for an hour everynight enjoying myself... I have my dinner in my car.. do my revision.. have a cuppa and a fag in there...

I've calmed down a bit now tho.. haven't been out in it toda... oh wait.. yeah i have.. went for a ride round the block.. ooops ;)
