Hi, Thought I would send greetings out to my fellow fiat fans. I have a 1999 Bravo 1.2 which I have had for five years now. Seems to cost me a fortune but that is probably more to do with needing to find a decent mechanic in Manchester who won't rip me off - just forked out £635 for my MOT (it did fail on two pages worth of stuff tho)! That said I love my little car and even bought my little sister one when she passed her test - got her a 2000 1.2 Bravo and she is a big fan too. Now if only I could find us a decent mechanic.....

may i be the first give u a warm welcome, and asfor garages in manchester, a mate of mine has just opened one, he doesnt do MOT's but does all kinds of repairs :)

Hi there, glad to see you're keeping the faith - a good FIAT is rewarding to own and should'nt be more expensive to maintain normaly than any other GM/Ford/Pug or whatever, but finding a garage mechanic that's -

(A) Competent/cares enough about his work, together with -
(B) Won't try and rip you off/look for work, is hard anywhere in the country, lol.

I hate taking any of my vehicles to a mechanic, (they often fix one thing whilst b*ggerig-up two other things at the same time) and am fortunate enough to be able to do most things myself.

Still, stick with BOO and you're bound to learn something new about your car and save a few quid along the way ;)

Thanks for the responses - much appreciated. I definitely wouldn't be without my car - love it to pieces and drive throughout the day for my job so definitely appreciate it. Look forward to learning some bits and pieces on these forums!

You'll learn a lot on here, ive been on 3 weeks and learn't a ton already!
