Hiya - help needed already!

Hi, I'm picking up my new Fiat today and the guy is trying to sell me a service policy for approx £400 to cover servicing over 3 years.

I take my trusty old banger to the same garage I have always used and want to continue to do this. He is good and will use genuine Fiat parts if asked to do so.

I have two questions:-
1. Will using a non Fiat garage affect my warranty?
2. The guy in the shop said that only Fiat have the engine computers required to correct anything during the service, is that true?

If its a brand spanker or still under warrenty even then I would use the garage your buying it from or your local fiat dealer for the service etc, they then cant blame any faults on somebody elses work. Also they may do some ECU updates as part of the service which i doubt many non-fiat garages can do.
As for the £400 policy asks what happens if they go bankrupt etc?
As soon as its out of warrenty then go where you like with it.

Thanks for that. Its the Fiat dealer that is offering the service package, so I should be ok?
