hi all just been down theroad and car was fine then all of a sudden there was a severe loss of power as if it had gone into get me home mode.then noticed strange smell and a sqealing noise.any ideas any body?????
cheers paul

Petrol or diesel? is it starting and running? we are good but not that good need a few details etc, any lights on on dash ????????

ah good point.its a diesel and it starts fine.i had just come of the motorway and it was fine but then all of a sudden it just became gutless.it still drives and starts fine but with little power at all.no lights came on and no warning signs at all.

I would check the drive belt to the alternator/P steering and make sure the idlers are OK, What sort of mileage has it done? open bonnet and listen to engine running maybe locate source of noise, the loss of power has many causes and there are lots of posts about that. Do you have a burning smell?

well !!!!! carsbeen on ramp and after further investigation it turns out that the turbo has gone !!! bugger found one on ebay today so hopefully back with me mid week
