HID issues

I installed a HID kit today and they worked fine when I did it. Driving home this evening and I noticed that they weren't all that bright, due to o e headlight being out.

When I turn them off and back on again both headlights work for about a second and then one goes out and the other one dims...any ideas?

possibly bad connection somewhere try swapping the ballasts over to see if you have a dodgy one and check all connections
