Hi my names luke and im 18 i just bought a punto a few days ago after my old mk1 clios oil pump blew going 80 down the moterway and the engine seized :(

I bought this mk1 blue 1.2 punto 1999 60sx with all the bells and whistles and added remote central locking 80k with all the service stamps filled and was owned by a lady teacher, it has a small dent in the rear wheel arch and a broken arial, i bought it from a fiat/alpha/ferrari specialist in cardiff, deal was he does a new mot witch included new disks and pads :p for £900

I phoned the garage that did the last service stamp when i was with the dealer and he said he did a head gasket change and the car has been looked after.

Is it true on these engines if the cambelt breaks it causes no damage to the valves?
I cant seem to see if the cambelt has been changed or not, are they normaly done when the gasket has? the cam belt cover looks like it has been taken off as a few of the clips are snapped and the cambelt dosent look dirty, it is abit wobbley, should i get the cover changed ?

The gearbox is fine but in reverse it can sound abit rough, is this the sighn of anything?

The center caps on the alloy wheels allways rattle how can i stop this?
and what would you guys say is the best method to clean the engine bay?

Is there any tips or things i should watch out with these cars, sorry about all the questions and bad spelling.

Thanks
