Hi from a newbie need some advice

Hi there

my wife is soon to take possesion of her mk2 1.2 16v hlx punto.

the mileage is 63500 and the cambelt was changed about 150 miles ago
but all the lady said was the belt was done is their a kit that should have been used aswell because i don`t know where it was changed at the moment or will the garage have used a kit if it was needed.

nearly forgot are there any common faults to look out for

good people would fit a kit, but some will cut corners and just fit a belt.
the kit is a belt and a tensioner bearing, they normally make a squealing noise before they brake though.

Howdy and welcome ..they really should have fitted a tensioner as well as Dave has told you ..

if you can take a look at the tensioner, if its been changed it should look new.. its situated at the belt side.buy yourself a haynes manual, it wont tell you everything but its a starting point
