X1/9 Hi everyone

Hello everyone. Just bought my first X1/9, 1989 1500. Always wanted one, but I need a bit of help to recommission it. Bought a Haynes manual, but if you know zilch technically about the car to begin with, well.

Let us know what it needs, would also like to see photos. I've owned mine for over 20 years and pretty much replaced everything on the car in that time!

Usual GF upholstery problem apparently. I want to drive the car so it'll get seat covers. I'm working on the Spitfire behind it at the same time. Trying to get them both up to roadworthy for spring motoring and shows.

I had those seats in mine which were a lot worse than that, managed to find a complete original leather interior to replace it which are more hard wearing.

Mica blue was the best colour for the X, but then I am biased!

Aha, you have one as well, it is a really good colour for the car. At first I went down the route of getting replacement upholstery material, but it was a lot of dosh and work, and everyone I spoke to said I'd still have the same problem with it afterwards, keeping it out of sunlight, and not using it. Leather or a good vinyl would be more usable, but for now I already had spare seat covers anyway until I get the MOT done.
