Glad I found this site, invalable information on stuff to make my 2001 punto well maintained. Cured my wiper blade judder which id suffered for 3years, in half an hour!! so thanks..I want to put a cd player in and was wondering if i have to buy one from fiat or can i just buy 1 from say halfords and fit it in? any tips? You can buy one from Halfords and just fit it in, they're all a standard size, but you'll need to buy a dashboard fascia (to cover the parts where the dashboard-moulded Punto cassette player went) otherwise it will look untidy and the fascia also keeps the "halfords" or aftermarket players locked into place.

You should be able to fit them quite easily yourself, I originally bought one from the internet, and it apparently was too powerful for the car, so I took it to Halfords and they fitted this one instead - it's basic but does the job - it looks a lot nicer than it does in the picture, too!

Don't get a Fiat one, my dealership offered to fit it for £166, when Halfords did it for £19.99!

The halfords facia is nice, I have a jvc cd player in my punto and it looks propperly put in, some car facias look awful. cor £166 stereo fitting!! thats robbery isnt it! Did that include a stereo?

Yeah, that was for the stereo and fitting!! The fascias are cheap, I bought mine off eBay (the fascia) as the autoleads fascias halfords sell are rubbish!!! (as I found out) - the official fiat one was exactly the same but has 2 metal clips that the autoleads one doesn't have.

I contacted Autoleads who tried to con me into a story that my dashboard must of disintegrated and yet... My FIAT fascia looks the same as the autoleads one and fits fine!!!
