Hi all,

Absolute newbie to fiat......and forums! Just saying hello. Bought my new 500 twinair last week and love her (called her Fee :)).

Hi Charlie,

Thanks for reply, welocme and advice :). I'm too busy worrying about gadgets, badges and graphics to be worrying about a dipstick!. As far as oomph goes I feel a big difference with the eco button off, does feel a bit sluggish with it on. I sometimes feel like I'm driving in the wrong gear, it's just taking a wee bit of getting used to. Much more noisey (almost diesel like) than my previous (Yaris) car. Just getting to grips with start/stop too. Bad habbit of sitting at traffic lights in gear I'm afraid (not exactly covering myself in glory here). I was driving for first few days without eco button off but its firmly on now..... as trip display didn't make for a good read as far as mpg goes! Just over 200 miles on the clock now. I do love the car, esp the style. Italians def have style. I can't see me driving anything else now! (y)

Hi Libby

Welcome to the Forum!

Hope you get loads of pleasure and enjoyment from the 500

I drove a twinair one and thought wow sounds so cool the engine and went like a train! Loved it!

Thanks!

I was beginning to wonder if there was something up with my exhaust! I do love the way it sounds.......albeit a wee bit boy racer"ish"........my interior is the same as the street with gunmetal coloured dash, def gives the feeling of driving a wee sports car. Best part of day is getting into car.......worst part is arriving at destination........work! :-(

They sounds awesome - even on the test drive just made me want to drive it fast (ooops)

The sales man told me (rubbish no doubt) that Fiat had built the engine to sound like the old 500 engines

Bet you get the foot down in it with the windows down!

Lol, no need for windows down :) and yeah, I did drive it (a bit) fast but once I checked out my fuel consumption I slowed things down a bit. Was at 30mpg......now up at dizzy heights of 34.7mpg!! I'm hoping that improves (eek)!!
