Hi guys
Further to my post for help last night, I have just managed to get that alarm stopped after changing the timing belt. What a relief to get her running again. I have just worked out how much changing the belt etc has cost me. I thought the following prices may of interest for anyone that might be interested in doing this for themselves.
Timing belt kit £70.11
Aux belt for power stering etc £6.94
Aux belt for alternator £5.23
Water pump £27.65
Anti freeze £2.98
Total cost £112.91 VAT
Total including VAT £132.67

Time taken 8 hours (I did it without having to take out the engine).

show off!! well done on changing your belt, 8 hours!! still quicker than fiat says :) how hard was it?

Timing belt

Not nearly as hard as I was lead to believe. The two biggest problems are getting off the cover but much worse is the tensioner. Mind you it was still more difficult than the Fiat124 coupe I did many years ago. Anyone out there still got a Fiat 124 1.8 coupe that they may want to sell
